Sculpsure

Transform your body without surgery

SculpSure's laser-based body contouring targets and destroys stubborn fat below the skin's surface in just 25 minutes with zero recovery time.

Why Choose SculpSure over CoolSculpting?

How does it work?

SculpSure and CoolSculpting both work by changing the temperature of fat cells in order to permanently destroy them. As the cells gradually die off, they are naturally and safely eliminated from your body through the lymphatic system, allowing the remaining fat cells to condense and thereby reducing the fat layer in the area treated CoolSculpting acts by suctioning the treatment area into the device and cooling/freezing the tissue.

On the other hand, SculpSure uses flat plates and a high tech 1060nm laser (the same one used in the very popular and successful SmartLipo invasive treatment) to heat the tissue in the treatment area.

One difference due to the mechanism of treatment is that the CoolSculpting freezing tends to be concentrated only on the tissue able to be suctioned into the applicator. This can sometimes create a "shark bite" appearance whereby there is an unnatural divot or depression next to an untreated area.

On the other hand, the heat from SculpSure tends to dissipate some beyond the immediate treatment area, thus allowing for more of a natural transition and feathering effect of fat destruction.

Furthermore, SculpSure can treat stubborn areas that are not amenable to CoolSculpting because there is no requirement that the treatment area has to be able to be suctioned fully into the treatment applicator -- SculpSure applicators just lay flat on the skin.

The heat and laser technology of SculpSure can also stimulate collagen and elastin production to help tighten skin and create a smoother appearance, another benefit not offered with CoolSculpting.

How long does the treatment take?

Each treatment area for CoolSculpting takes about 60 minutes. Once the freezing treatment has been completed, it is necessary to massage and/or knead the treatment area before the patient may leave. Think of a hard cold stick of butter and you get the idea.

Each treatment area for SculpSure takes only 25 minutes to treat without any immediate post-treatment care required. Furthermore, there are some instances in which 2 separate treatment areas can be treated at the same time (such as both flanks, both arms, or both thighs) -- still in only 25 minutes.

What are the side effects, if any?

Both SculpSure and CoolSculpting are FDA approved and safe. Thus far, there have been reports with CoolSculpting for adverse effects such as nerve damage with numbness/tingling, severe bruising, prolonged or severe pain, "shark bite" depressions, and even paradoxical fat increase.  None of these issues have been reported with SculpSure.

One possible reason for this difference is that the freezing with CoolSculpting is non-specific and thus may damage more that just the fat cells, whereas the 1060nm laser of SculpSure has a very high affinity and specificity for fatty tissue.
